Please give me a day’s notice via email, phone message or text if you have to miss a lesson for any reason. The lesson will be made up or rescheduled for a time that works for both of us. I would appreciate the forewarning as another makeup lessons can be scheduled for the missed time slot.
-
If I have to cancel a lesson, I’ll give you at least a day’s notice via email, text or phone message, and students will not be charged for any missed lessons due to my absence.
-
If a student needs to change to a different day or time, I’ll do my best to accommodate.
-
A student may quit lessons at any time and for any reason. Any lessons owed to the student should immediately be scheduled and taken within a month or they will be forfeited.
Lesson Material
-
For beginning younger students, I’m introducing the Hal Leonard publication “Drums For Kids”. It has some great step by step rudiments and patterns to get you started playing the drums. We’ll also be adding some songs to play along to so you can get a feel for coordination in drum set playing. For older beginning students, we'll be working with "Alfred's Beginning Drumset Method. This also has some cool play along to music track instruction
-
There are many great resources in drum lesson publications and video and audio resources. Depending on your skill level, we can tailor a program to take you to the next level!
Practice
-
All students need to spend regular quality time practicing assignments from each lesson.
-
Practicing some each day is much more effective than trying to cram in a lot of practice in a couple of days.
-
Practice the assignments first, then jam out to your heart’s content.
-
Practice everything slowly and solidly…work on speed later.
-
The quality of practice time is more important than the quantity…strive to get better and set reasonable daily practice goals.
